O2 says i-mode is doing well

i-modeO2 UK has reported 450,000 users of its i-mode service, but seems a bit confused about its range of handsets.

In conflicting statements, O2 said that its current range of handsets is “not going to bring in millions of customers”, and then in the next breath said that it has a “solid range” of -mode handsets.

O2 launched its own YouTube last year with LookAtMe, and got into the music space with Your Show. Apparently LookAtMe has 45k daily downloads on average, not a bad figure at all. And O2’s Bluebook has 10k subscribers. All applications that will deliver revenue to the Telefonica owned operator.

O2 and i-mode are about the best in mobile data at the moment, but that’s probably not saying too much about the current situation.
